Feeling gay!

And this is why...

Today is Ainul's first day at Mezzo after being a penganggur for so long ;)
to say she was Excited, is a terrible understatement.

Feeling terribly fed up at looking and planning the prop,
and feeling dejected about having to rewrite an analysis,
(We all have our PMS moments.. so leave mine alone =P)
Saf and Ainul came home to save me from being blue.

Saf entered the house door with a face full of excitement and said,
"We've got a surprise!"
Ainul placed a cup of take-away on the table
"First, the chicken and wild rice soup from Mezzo!"
Then Saf takes out a roll of newspaper,
"Next, your newspaper!"
and finally, they placed a big ribboned box on the table,
"Bukala... Buka! Open!"

Hehe! Saf and Ainul felt even more excited than I did while trying on the dress!
I absolutely love it =) Thankyou so much!!
I got a gift, just because. Sighs, love at Elysee... <3

Enough For One Day

We went to the Taste of Champaign in downtown Champaign today.

Now we're all tired.
Well, at least i am.
Ainul pening. (I swear, we're all gonna suffer from heat stroke!)

Overall, it was fuunnn :)

We survived the hot sun rays and rewarded ourselves with cookies, cheesecakes, lemon shakeup, curly cheese fries, ice tea and chocolate strawberrryyyy (i ate that one by myself :P)

There were also tents for entertainment.
The band played some salsa/tango-ish music and we grooved to it on the dance floor.
Ainul and Wenli were waaayyyy better at it.

After a good day outside, we came home.
And made spaghetti yang sedap for dinner :)
hehe, we had good stomach exercise from watching Russell Peters too!
Don't you just love to hate him =P

BIked through Holland, visited Japan, all in a day.

I guess it's true that you usually miss the things that are right in front of you. In other words, you take it for granted.

But today, we discovered that there's a big pleasant world in Urbana Champaign. And yes, we experienced Holland and Japan and farms and Olympics all in the same day. All you need is just an adventurous side.

Around 5.30pm, we grabbed Tikah's, Zaza's and Lopop's bikes for an expedition in search of venues for the Midwest Games. Then we cycled down south towards the Sports Complex. It was awesome. We went past people, greek houses. We passed a group of young people playing in a wading pool they set up in front of their house. We passed ARC. And finally, we arrived at our destination.

The sports complex down there is really cool. They have like a whole 3 acres for the complex. So after looking around, we decided to take a detour and went further south towards the prairie farms and we found a windmill house. :)..

Next detour : the Japanese garden which beauty is quite well known. :)

We came back with an empty stomach. But our hunger was delightfully satisfied by Lopop's incredible nasi ayam and ayam barbeque. I'm not kidding. It was heavenly.

All in all, happy day. =)

Night of terror

THIS.... my dear friends, was in Saf's room since I-don't-know-when-but-I-hope-no-more-than-one-hour.. I saw it crawling on the wall near Saf's desk. Thanks to my horrible eyesight, I just saw a huge dark mob on the wall, moving. And, when I pointed it to Saf, that's when we both freaked out.

Us : WENLIIIIIIIII. SINIIIIII !!!!!!!

She saved us all. ='). Despite her fear of insects too, she braved herself and fought for Elysee. Wenli caught the 'centipede' in a box and finally brought it outside.
How can we leave out the process?!! That's the FUN part! =P
How Alina dashed into the room thinking it must be some pretty horrific horror movie we were watching.
How I yelled that no once screams else I'll scream too!
How it fell from the wall to the floor and everyone jumped!
How it moved at the speed of lightning and we fought valiantly to trap it in the shoe box!
How we spent hours trying to ensure that we actually did trap it inside the box!
How we unitedly came up with a plan to transport THE THING out of the house after gosh-knows-how-long!
How we ran barefooted onto the street, while reminding Alina to take the keys!
How you 3 screamed in the street as we tried flipping the box over!!
How Saf ganasly threatened Alina! (which due to conflicting information could not be quoted here. =P)
Then, she heroically stepped on it. We felt bad for killing a living thing, but it has caused us so much terror, it just had to be done. A few stones were built around the house centipede as a tomb. So long.

Saf, Alina and I would always be indebted.

Always ALWAYS.
Thank god i didnt have nightmares that night.

OKayla.. not as dramatic as the title sounds. =)

So Elysee has been buzzing with activities at odd times lately...
and at 9pm, we're defrosting this huge lump of chicken pieces in a very huge pot.
and why, you may ask!?!?
cause we're having dinner for supper again, with guests! =)

While Syauqi, Bro, Ezra and Is were online-video-gaming on the couch...
Ainul and Saf plucked up their courage,
and armed with knives,
attacked the chicken!
Water splashed, screams yelled, swears cursed, laughter shared, concerns conveyed,
we finally got the chicken into bags and nicely deboned (bones for soup!)
(wenli really really loves her soups!! Some chi-ku-teh bags would be wondrously nice! ;))
and I quote, Saf's favorite 3 things to do,
"driving, chopping, and main api... ... and also RIBENA!.... sangat-sangat suka tau?!"

Ohoh! Not forgetting the chicken being broiled in the oven..
We made Ayam masak merah and telur goreng dadar w mushrooms =)
yummmy!

Ah... at the end of it all, I like the look of a sparklingly clean kitchen... and Ainul agrees.

Elysee, 5.30am

As I saw the sky turn from night till dawn...

I never realized the rubbish collectors here work in the wee hours of the morning,
until now.
Champaign IS pretty noisy at night,
a bunch of drunkards being noisy outside our window.
The sudden change in weather is chillingly scary.

Just another bunch of random observations.

Our timings are pretty skewed. =)
@ 130 am after having 'dinner' at Syauqi's

Yeap! Elysee was bustling with activity at 2am in the morning.
After bundling up knives and securing boxes,
Saf retired for the night @ 4am
Ainul an hour after that...

the environmental officers have left with their big and noisy truck...
and our upstairs neighbor's making the sound Intan LOVES and misses =)
I think she's trying to shush her dog...

If I could just get that final paragraph....

My mom and sister is boarding the flight to LA.

Saf, Wenli and me are in the car heading back to Champaign in this huge-ass enormous massive gigantic white Ford Explorer, while trying to scream our heads off to the music Saf burnt in a CD earlier before we left.

Wenli is typing her first draft at the front seat.

Saf is driving.

I am melayaning perasaan at the back seat.

Eh! Eh! What about all the singing, and the video-whoring, and the photo posing!? =P


So now,

It really is just the four of us left.
Well, at least we got to ride on an awesome white royalty-like car, which drinks up gas like its free ice cold lemonade. Oh well, who’s going to use up the gas in the world if it’s not us anyway.

okay, i figured since Intan wrote one when she's AWAY from Elysee and none of you threaten/scream/yell/scold/and those yang sewaktu dengannye to her, here comes the flood of feelings that i have patiently kept inside! ehehehe

1- i miss Dimitri & Polo! DUH! of course they are the first thing for me to remember about. they are the ones who have slept loyally next to me since day 1 i had them.
2 - i miss MY COUCH! oh god, i seriously do. i've been jumping from one couch after another at home, trying to compare if anything is even better than the one in Elysee....well lets just say that i ended up crawling to my bed instead ;(
3 - i miss my routine of dragging Dimitri, Polo, my pillow and my blankie from the bottom room to the couch every night!
4 - okay la, fine fine. I miss the crazy/loco/gila people in the house too. ;P
5 - i miss how everyone's head is always ALWAYS stuck behind their laptops either on the couch/on the floor/on the dinner table.
6 - i miss how i would just blast the songs from either Saf's/Tan's/Wenli's/Ainul's laptop and sing at the top of my lungs.
7 - i miss how ALL OF THEM would cringe at the sound of airplane that signals Mariah's Bye Bye is blasting up soon! EHEHEHE
8 - i miss the fact that i could sleep for as long as I want when Intan and Asma had to wake up early for class! ;P
9 - i miss how ALL OF THEM would pick on me/the things that i do/say. i'm just too adorable for them to resist...

almost the end....

It's almost the end.... of our sumptuous delicious masakan-mak malaysian food supplies. My mom is going back tomorrow. *sob sob

Can you believe that there was ikan terubuk bakar in elysee yesterday . * moment of silence, wet glittering eyes* . Wenli, Saf and me habiskan ikan sampai ke sisik2. Wah, sedapnya. =D

Well anyway, today we decided to have some American food for my mom and sis. Papa John's pizza anybody? So my mom won't be cooking today.

We will definitely surely going to miss you mom/auntie. Tips for those future roomies of ours back in malaysia.

1. Saf sangat2 suka sambal belacan dalam botol tu. Sedap sampai menjilat jari (and pinggan)
2. Wenli stood in awe when she saw karipaps that my mom made. So yg kat malaysia, boleh la belajar. )gn lupa bawak rempah kari datang sini.
3. Ainul has been drinking milo every single day. It's her favorite breakfast nowadays.

Somehow, randomly, I just have to mention that Saf washed her bathroom today! =)

Had Sambal Ikan Bilis and bread with Saf for lunch, before I dashed off to work today.
(Which by the way, is the cutest yes most boring event ever I've catered for thus far...!)

Ainul left the day before to Chicago with her mum and sis,
and had cute smses sent home,
like "Burger and sausage, you suke mane?"
and "Okay! I've bought meat, fish, and chicken, we've got to cook it all.." =P
even though she was pretty *cough* distracted *cough*
Saf left for Aurora shortly after I went in for work!
hehe, she made it back with not a single cash spent other than for food. Gratz! ;)

Anyway,
I always wondered, how it would be like having a place for myself...
and I figured today, that I NEVER ever want it...
or maybe I'm just not ready for a quiet place alone for myself for now...

but whatever it is,
coming home from work to an empty house,
with no one around except for the music from my lappie, and the spinning of the fan,
Elysee just somehow seem much bigger.

At this moment, Saf and I are both sitting on the couch, chilling after a long day. (with an almost empty fridge... Amazing!)

So..

Intan, Pakwan and Feeze just left for O'hare this morning. Finally, summer's starting, leaving the 4 of us in this house (alina, saf, wenli and me)

Classes have started for each of us. My mom and sister are still here. Thank God for the creation of laptops. They have pretty much preoccupied themselves with Grey's Anatomy and Anime movies online. I think my mom already finished a whole season of Grey's Anatomy in two days.

We had a slumber party the other day though not as we had hoped because half of us passed out in the middle of the party. Too tired.

Had dinner/super at iHop last night. That was fun.

It was a thundering and stormy night.
Lightnings flash across the sky like in a duel of swords.
An alarm could be heard blaring through out the night.

Asma: "... semua turun basement."

We rushed everyone down into the basement of Elysee
(without much panic =D, comes with the experience ;) ),
as there was a tornado warning.
Our first in Champaign, as the summer of tornadoes creep closer.


ala..shit. did i seriously miss my first tornado warning in Champaign?? Well, at least you guys ade basement for sure unlike my first ever tornado warning in SIU. Dah la kena stuck ngan Intan, then we went down into what we hope was a basement of the dorm cuz it looks like one, BUT it wasnt! sheeesh ;(

So here's the deal,
it's just Saf and I at home.
JUST the two of US. =)
and we're crying our eye balls out.
No, it's not because we're sad, lonely souls.
It's 1 litre of tears.
Cuddled up with pillows, and hugging frosted flakes,
we made it through the remaining 5 of the 11 episodes.
It's a beautiful story.

Had a long intermission in between as we made our way in Pak Wan's car to the SSN office,
and too bad Intan doesn't have my boss =P, she's now still SSN un-apply-able.
Anyway, that's not the main reason for this post.
Unsuccessful as she was, the trip did turn out pretty fruitful!
We stopped by PetSmart upon Saffy's request,
and now, I present you,
